“Meditating Rafiki” was the first painting I chose to incorporate elements from my work with adults with developmental disabilities (where I have worked as a direct support professional and art teacher since 2012). I used 11 different projects, varying from watercolor and salt to shaving cream and food dye, cut them up and layered to create the mosaic of energy around Rafiki. I created this live during a concert at the Fox Theater in Boulder in 2014, just one year after starting my career as an artist.
