“The woman who lost her soul” is about acknowledging the darkness in ones self. The skull cap represents being stripped of comfort and feeling inside-out; letting our inner-emotions take hold of us. The cigarette is a bad habit, one that creates an endless cycle shown by the fumes flowing into a snake staring into her eyes, and back into her skin. The exposed tattoo connects back into the skull, the mind, and promotes a cycle of habit, self-doubt, and pain that is often difficult to escape. This is a dark piece, but meant to illustrate an inescapable part of being human.
